HERE, TOMATO PULP, ONION AND BUTTER ARE REDUCED TOGETHER AND THE RESULTANT SAUCE IS THE MOST INTENSELY PURE TOMATO SAUCE YOU’VE EVER TASTED. I USE FRESH TOMATO PULP WHICH I MAKE IN BULK WHEN THE TOMATOES ARE REALLY RIPE, THEN FREEZE IN CONTAINERS FOR THE LONG WINTER. BUT IF YOU GET GOOD CANNED WHOLE TOMATOES, THE RESULT IS ALSO EXCELLENT. YOU COULD ALSO DOUBLE OR TRIPLE THE RECIPE AND FREEZE IN 1 CUP CONTAINERS FOR THOSE TIMES WHEN YOU’RE FEELING LAZY BUT STILL WANT A GREAT MEAL.
